FACEBOOK page for East Point

There are many Facebook pages I would like to list for the individual communities in East Point, but the main page you should know about if you are new to the area or if you just want to keep up with what goes on in the community is here, The Community of East Point.
It's a great place to pose questions and get local info on anything from the best places to eat, crime, goings on with the local government, and more.

The Dream Project: local non profit

The Dream Project is a program specifically designed for East Point children who are learning English as a second language. We run as an after school program during the school year and also provide a summer camp while the children are on break. As the director of this program I wanted to put this here on the blog to help with community awareness.
To know more about this awesome program please see our facebook page here and LIKE us!

The Bowden Center

There is a Senior Citizen facility in East Point, The Bowden Center. I'm curious if anyone knows if this video was taken there. I think it's adorable. I love the hats and gloves. The youtube user is vanessiesmith3230

East Point Barber Shop

The East Point Barber Shop is my new favorite places to get my hair cut. It's right on East Point Street across from the bank and it's owned by Elizabeth Hunt. My grandmother, mother, and friends get their hair done there. It's very reasonably priced; wash, cut, dry for under $25 and you don't need to call ahead for an appointment.
Hours: Tues.-Fri. 9-6
Sat. 9-4
2805 East Point St.
404-559-8397

My friend Amanda Baker comes down from Marietta to get her hair done. Elizabeth is great, she listens and seems to get it right every time.

Here is Joey, Elizabeth's bird. He's there every time she is and he is usually very talkative.
