The East Point Barber Shop is my new favorite places to get my hair cut. It's right on East Point Street across from the bank and it's owned by Elizabeth Hunt. My grandmother, mother, and friends get their hair done there. It's very reasonably priced; wash, cut, dry for under $25 and you don't need to call ahead for an appointment.
Hours: Tues.-Fri. 9-6
Sat. 9-4

My friend Amanda Baker comes down from Marietta to get her hair done. Elizabeth is great, she listens and seems to get it right every time.
Here is Joey, Elizabeth's bird. He's there every time she is and he is usually very talkative.
After I posted photos about my high school my mom suggested I do one for her alma mater, Headland High School. I found the photo from this Headland reunion website. One interesting thing that connects my mom and I to this school is that my high school used the Headland football field for our Friday night football games.
The following video was taken in 2000 at the All Class Reunion, it features graduates from '74, '72, and more and includes lots of footage from the reunion and a tour of everything from the gym to the "smoking grounds".
The video is from kjfitzgerald593 and this is the description from his video.
Hello Headland Highlanders and Paul D. West Panthers! This all-classes reunion was the last time you could see the campus athletic fields and stadium before they were demolished to make room for the new Paul D. West school buildings. See my other video regarding Headland / Paul D. West for one last visit to these buildings, and a first look at the new buildings from the front.
This is another video by the same youtuber, about two years later. It's a similar walk through but after construction started on the new school and includes a look at some old year books.

Here is a current picture of Paul D West. I tried to get a front view but the school sits so far back you can't see it from the road very well at all.

I just stumbled across this a few minutes ago and felt it relevent for this site. It's not about East Point specifically but I think it's worth hearing.
This is where I attended school from second grade till I graduated high school. As far as I know it is now still called Colonial Hills Baptist Church, but if anyone knows for sure please let me know and I'll correct this. I had not been in the area in forever and a lot has changed.
On the left is the auditorium and the right is the large parkinglot.
Band room.
Parking lot that led to both playgrounds. This parking lot ends about half way down. The lower playground doesn't exist anymore. It's covered in ivy. There is a small but beautiful little park further back. Also, the small playground that was behind the yellow house appeared to be used by a private residence.
I can't remember what this room was called but I remember watching movies in here.
Many mornings and afternoons were spent hanging out here. The school lunch room was just inside.
Feel free to share memories. I'll go back and get more photos if anyone is interested.
